Nelliyampathy hills spread over 80 square kilometers and temperature is cool and varies from 15c to 30c throughout the year. This famous hill station lies 1572 m above sea level and you have to drive 10 hair pin bends on the Ghat road to reach the top of Nelliyampathy. Nearby tourist places that you can visit around Nelliyampathy are Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary, Thunakadavu and Malampuzha Dam.

Karapara estate –A located in Padagiri is a 541 acre plantation estate created and grown by Robert Hobbs and Stuart Gilchinson and is now owned by Dr. PV Majeed and Group. Karapara River flows through the boundary of estate. Cardamom plantation itself grows in 300 acres. Golden green a new variety of cardamom is newly planted in large areas. Robusta coffee is planted in 200 acres intercropped with pepper and oranges. Queen Victoria used to collect oranges from Nelliyampathy hills. Estate has lot of ponds and check dams for irrigation and fish farming.
