The synagogue built in 1568 has 19th century chandeliers from Belgium, and blue willow pattered Chinese floor tiles from the 18th century. There is also a 4th century copper plate which carries the Maharaja's inscription in Malayalam, in the unique Kannadiezhuthu (Mirror Writing) script which is decipherable only with the aid of a mirror.
